While shooting an MMA scene in her new movie, Halle was kicked by her opponent (real-life martial arts fighter Valentina Shevchenko) and broke two ribs in the process. The injury didn’t stop Halle from finishing the scene: “The fighter in me stood up and said, ‘You should just go ahead, take some Advil and work your way through it.’

While being beaten up for the scene, George fell over while tied to a chair and slammed his head against the floor. He tore his dura, the sac that holds the spinal fluid. The actor was in tremendous pain and even thought about ending his life: “I was at a point where I thought, ‘I can’t exist like this. I can’t really live.'”

Charlize left the set with a hernia and possible paralysis after landing on her neck doing a backflip. “That injury scared me — I was almost paralyzed,” she said in an interview.

When Leo slammed his fist against a table before a scene, he slammed his hand against a glass. He kept his character, but later needed stitches for the bloody cut on his hand.

While she was running on rooftops in an action sequence, Michelle tore her ACL and had to have surgery. For the rest of the film, she wore braces that were not seen on camera. “It took me three months to recover, to be ready for the final battle series,” said Michelle in an interview.

While performing a stunt, Ruby developed two hernias near her spinal cord, which nearly paralyzed her. “I was in chronic pain and couldn’t feel my arms anyway,” she said in an Instagram post. Ruby underwent emergency surgery, which left her paralyzed.

While shooting a scene where he jumps from one building to another, Tom slammed his ankle against the side of a wall. The actor suffered a broken ankle, but the take was used in the actual film.

As a result of falling from a pile of 20 chairs in a scene for the film, Jeremy broke both his arms. “When I hit the ground, I knew it wasn’t right,” he said in an interview.

Kate nearly drowned while filming a water scene after her coat got stuck on a gate underwater. “I had to slide out of the jacket a bit to get free. I was out of breath,” she explained in an interview.

In a scene depicting domestic violence, Angela fell over the back of a sofa and broke her wrist.

After falling from a moving vehicle, Dylan was hit by another vehicle following him. He ended up with a concussion, facial fractures and cuts, and mental trauma after the accident. “The state you’re in after something like that, you just want to run away from all that stuff,” he said.

Johnny was thrown from a galloping horse, dragged through a desert, and trampled by the animal in a scene from the movie. Fortunately, he only ended up with a big bruise on his stomach. “I was very lucky because it could have been horrible,” he said in an interview.

Jaimie slipped and fell down a metal staircase on set, ending up with a dislocated shoulder, hernia, a torn diamond muscle and 11 fractured vertebrae.

After cutting his leg during filming, Tom developed a terrible staph infection, which doctors say could have killed him had he not received treatment.

Jackie has suffered many injuries throughout his career, but one of the worst was on the set of Armor of God, when he jumped off a cliff to a tree, fell 40 feet and landed on a rock. One of his bones eventually pierced his brain and he nearly died as a result.

While filming a fight scene, Blake shattered her hand, broke several bones and damaged ligaments. “I crashed into Jude Law with my fake rubber knife and my hand collided with his elbow,” she explained. They had to pause shooting for six months until her hand recovered.


And finally, Bruce Willis in die hard.

Bruce permanently lost two-thirds of his hearing after a machine gun fired extra loud blanks onto the set.
