Give us playing sticks
Last week, the debut looked off Exciting: Rio’s bid for a League of Legends television universe. And not only is it a critical hit, it seems to have done well for Riot in terms of range. Of course, more are coming League of legends media on the way.
Riot had no doubt already planned this given how long it took to produce and publish Exciting, but in a recent interview with the LA Times, they become a little more open about what that might entail. Riot Entertainment President Shauna Spenley had this to say:
“I do not think most of Hollywood is aware of how massive this is. I think we have a huge opportunity to build amazing organic stories inside this world, and for it to quietly build. and become the IP that defines a generation. It’s going to take some time. “
So obviously there are some attitudes here and Spenley are just doing their job. While “IP that defines a generation” is a big task, even when it’s just the MOBA sphere DOTA 2 is also massively successful, there is potential. Exciting apparently hit a chord with people not playing League, as well as dropped players. So there is room to slowly build quality League of legends media projects to the point where suddenly there is a new “universe” people actually like.
I mean, the sky is the limit here. Riot has so many sensors, and so many accounts and so much data, that they could pull information from around the world and focus their best ideas for free. Whoever the most popular masters are; they can at least get a role in a new project. Or maybe promote their new ones League of legends rework and premiere skin, or even a new spinoff game.
