AVC: Rebisco falls close match against Uzbek club

MANILA, Philippines – Team Rebisco lost their second game after losing to Uzbek club AGMK, 24-26, 25-23, 25-18, 25-19, in the 2021 AVC Asian Club Volleyball Championship on Saturday in the Terminal 21 in Nakhon Ratchasima. Thailand

The Filipinos opened strong with a hard-fought victory in the first set, but the Uzbeks found a way to take advantage of their first win so far.

AGMK was on track to take the fourth set with a 23-17 lead, but the Filipinos mustered two points in a row to get within four, 23-19.

Ysay Marasigan, however, put AGMK on match point after he hit the net and Joshua Umandal followed with a net touch that gave the Uzbeks victory.

Team Rebisco fell to 0-2 also after an opening day loss to Iranian club Sirjan Foulad in Group B on Friday.
