Bangladesh will tour New Zealand in January 2022 for a two-match test series

The Bangladesh team will travel to New Zealand early next year as they are scheduled to play a two-match test series as part of the 2021-2023 World Test Championship. Bangladesh are currently ranked ninth in the ICC rankings for teams and they will have a tough time facing the current winners of the World Test Championship.

Given the Covid conditions and quarantines, Bangladesh will travel to New Zealand in December. Bangladesh come after a poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2021, where they could not register a single victory in the Super 12 stages.

The previous tour in New Zealand for Bangladesh did not go well in 2019 as they lost the test series by three matches 0-2.

Schedule for Bangladesh tour in New Zealand

The first test of the two-match series between Bangladesh and New Zealand takes place from January 1 to January 5 at the Bay Oval in Tauranga. The second test follows from January 9 at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. There has been no information about the allowable audience capacity for the series during Covid times.

New Zealand will play a three-match T20 international series and a two-match test series against India on the subcontinent after the T20 World Cup 2021 ends on 14 November. The Kiwis have a tight schedule on the way and there may be many big players rested for the series against Bangladesh whose workload needs to be managed.

New Zealand reaches the Maiden T20 World Cup final

New Zealand did fantastic in the semi-final against England to reach the final of the T20 World Cup 2021. James Neesham’s quickfire cameo with Daryl Mitchell, who played the anchor role, helped the Kiwis chase a big total and has taken revenge for the last loss in the 2019 World Cup.
