MANILA, Philippines – Filipino figure skaters Christopher Caluza and Michael Martinez finished in the bottom half of the Finnish Trophy 2021 Espoo Metro Areena men’s short program in Espoo, Finland on Friday (Manila time).
Caluza finished in 22nd place with 59.74 points, 29.70 in technical and 30.04 in program content score, while Martinez was ranked 23rd with 55.62 points, 25.74 for technical and 30.88 in program content.
Keegan Messing of Canada and Jason Brown of the United States led the 26-man group with a total of 92.39 points.
Messing scored 48.73 on technical content and 43.66 on show content, while Brown scored 46.93 on technical content and 45.46 on show content.
Skaters will return to the rink on Friday night for the free skating portion of the competition.
The Finland Trophy is part of the ISU Challenger Series 2021-22, a group of high-level international figure skating competitions, one notch lower than the ISU Grand Prix.
