‘Dancing With the Stars’ judge Derek Hough has COVID-19

Derek Hough is forced to take a break from judging Dancing with the stars, after revealing on social media on Tuesday that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

“Even though I am fully vaccinated, I have just been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of COVID,” he said in a video. “I just found out and I feel okay. I feel strong. I am currently following the advice of medical professionals and doing everything I can to get better as soon as possible. I am currently in quarantine. I will make sure to I want to keep you all updated on what’s going on, but I want to send everyone lots of love. Stay safe.”

When asked how long Hough will be out of circulation, a spokeswoman for: Dancing with the stars Yahoo Entertainment referred back to its post.

The show’s finale – featuring influencer JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson, The conversation host Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten, NBA stars Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach, and Peloton Instructor Cody Rigsby and Cheryl Burke will compete for the Mirrorball trophy — on November 22.

Hough was sidelined for ‘Britney Night’ last month, when participants danced to Britney Spears’ songs, following what host Tyra Banks called ‘potential exposure to COVID’.

“Although he has been fully vaccinated and tested negative, as a precaution, Derek will not be attending tonight’s show,” Banks said during the Oct. 4 broadcast.

That same week, pro dancer Burke and her partner, Rigsby, came out with their own positive COVID-19 tests, despite being vaccinated. The pair performed their dance to “Gimme More” from each of their separate homes, the screen making it seem like they were side by side.
