Denise Richards did not expect a judge’s ruling Monday that ex-husband Charlie Sheen, the father of her 17-year-old daughter Sami and Lola, 16, would adjust his child support to “zero dollars a month”.
But that’s exactly what happened, according to both People and MSN. A source told the magazine that The bald and the handsome actress was unaware that a court date was scheduled.
“Charlie submitted [to stop paying child support] two years ago and kept pushing the court date, so Denise was very surprised it happened yesterday while she was filming out of town,” the source said. “She was caught off guard.”
An insider went against the magazine that Richards had known about the court date for six months.
Richards and Sheen, who were married from 2002 to 2006, have had an ugly breakup at times. The girls both lived with their mothers for years, but last month Sami celebrated moving from her mother’s “hell house” to a TikTok that was eventually made private.
The People A source said Sami’s younger sister does not live with Sheen.
“She lives with both of her parents and stays with Charlie when Denise is out of town. When Denise is back, Lola will be with her,” said the unknown person. “This is very disappointing for Denise, but also not surprising. Charlie pits the girls against their mother, which is terrible.”
Yahoo Entertainment has reached out to both Richards and Sheen for comment.
The moment Sami’s message confirmed that she lived with her Hot Shots! Dad, Sheen commented, “Sam is amazing. I love her and all my kids unconditionally. We’re having a ball. GED here we come!!!”
The actor shares twin sons, 12-year-old Bob and Max, with another ex-wife, Brooke Mueller. He also has an adult daughter, Cassandra, with his high school girlfriend.
