Former Nigerian international Etim Esin has expressed confidence that the Super Eagles will respond to the shocking defeat suffered by the Central African Republic (CAR).
The Eagles were upset 1-0 by the soccer minnows in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup on Thursday in Lagos.
A goal from Karl Namnganda in the 91st minute secured the Central African Republic their first victory in Group C.
Despite exhibiting a star-studded lineup, the Eagles were unable to break through the well-organized visitors’ defense.

The surprising result has opened the group, as the Eagles, with six points, are only two points above CAR and Cape Verde.
Lone Star of Liberia is last in the group, but has three points after its victory in CAR.
And looking forward to the reverse game between the Eagles and CAR, Esin said he was confident of a response from Gernot Rohr.
“I think the Eagles will respond to the shock loss,” Esin said. Completesports.com.
“It was a bad result on Thursday, but I am confident before Sunday’s game.”
