Fitness standards prevent Hemraj, Rutherford from WI choices

Guyana’s Chandrapaul Hemraj and Shefrane Rutherford were not selected for the West Indies T20 teams and 50-over teams were selected for the Pakistan Tour after failing to meet the required fitness standards of the Cricket West Indies (CWI).

This is according to the director of cricket, Jimmy Adams, during a press briefing on Saturday, where he spoke about issues related to the selection of the squad.

“There is a six-month window within which players must achieve this goal, and within that window, Chandrapaul Hemraj has not met the required standard and was therefore not eligible for selection,” said Adams, a former West Indian cricket captain.
