Google goes one step further by launching a new version of its ‘Art Selfie’ that allows users to match their pets with famous works of art.
In 2018, Google launched an Art Selfie feature that allowed users around the world to take selfies of themselves, allowing Google’s AI to match their attributes to artworks from the past. Now, with the Google Arts & Culture app on Android, you can tap the camera button in the center of the bottom bar to launch a new “Pet Portraits” feature.
This means that when you take a photo of your pet, compare it to thousands of historical works of art, including paintings, sculptures, and old photographs. Google says the Pet Portraits feature can match four-legged animals, birds, and fish with famous artwork.
After you’ve finished taking a photo of your pet, you’ll be given a percentage of how much your animal matches the artwork. Other Art & Culture app modes include ‘Art Projector’, ‘Color Palette’, ‘Art Filter’ and ‘Pocket Gallery’.
The Google Arts & Culture app is available on the Google Play Store.
