Great Far Cry 6 Patch prepares games for DLC, fixes bugs

Far Cry 6 has just implemented its first major patch since launch, and it prepares the game for some free DLC, makes some gameplay updates and quality of life changes, and then fixes some bugs. It weighs 18,391 GB on PlayStation 5, and the Ubisoft blog says the PS4-specific update will be “between 49 GB and 60 GB depending on [your] region “. The post also says that the PS5 patch will be 60 GB, so it may not be very accurate. The new content in question is a Special Operation with Danny Trejo, available from November 9, 2021.

Gameplay updates
• New daily and weekly challenges have been added.
• (Available November 9) New special operation: Los Tres Santos.
• Adjusted enemy respawn speed in the following areas: José’s Island and Martínez (Philly’s) Airstrip.
• General performance improvements.

Changes in quality of life
• The title sequence can now be skipped just like other cinema films.
• The Co-Op menu icon now shows a “!” when Co-Op becomes available to players.
• Fixed several subtitles to better reflect the intention, e.g. resources are now universally called Resolver Materials.
• Added a Moneda tutorial after ending the first rebellion.
• The workbench background has been updated to make it less distracting.
Updated color blind mode to solve more problems for players with deuteranopia, e.g. do not have white text on a yellow background.

Bug fixes
General
Fixed an issue that could cause a loop death and load screen situation when an automatic save was made while the player was dying.
Fixed an issue that caused the weekly “Road Rage” challenge to have an identical name as the in-game trophy. The weekly challenge is now called “Road Fatality”.
Fixed an issue that could cause a player to fall through the world until he restarted the game in rare circumstances after crashing a plane into the ground during a co-op session.
Fixed an issue that could cause the Auto Turret gadget to be permanently equipped when loading a saved file.
Fixed an issue that could cause Wingsuit to become unavailable if the player built the Level 1 Hideout Network facility before applying launch day patches.

Photo mode
Fixed an issue that could cause connected controllers to vibrate constantly under certain circumstances when Photomode was opened.
Fixed an issue that could cause players to get stuck in Photomode when they could not find a Co-Op partner during matchmaking.

Missions
Fixed an issue that could cause a looping load screen during the “Backseat Driver” mission.
Fixed an issue that could cause the mission progress to be stopped if all land forces were killed without being detected during the “Break the Chains” mission.
Fixed an issue where the “Triada Blessings” and “Boom or Bust” missions would not complete correctly when completing them in Co-Op.
Fixed an issue that could cause Miguel to disappear and the mission progress to stop under certain circumstances during the “Second Son” mission.
Fixed an issue that could cause the controls to appear on the screen after the movie during the “Harpoon” mission.
