IPL 2021 | Hardik Pandya is on the mend, could go bowling in a week, says Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma has said that Hardik Pandya is improving day by day in fitness levels and might be able to do so in a week or so. Hardik has not played in the 2021 IPL due to injury issues that have become a headache for the Indian team’s management ahead of the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

Hardik Pandya has not played a competitive game since the limited overs series against England at home in February-March. He was expected to play for the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing 2021 IPL, but one problem meant the five-time champions couldn’t take advantage of Hardik’s bowling services. Rohit Sharma has said that the medical team is working on Hardik.

“The physiotherapists, the coaches, the medical team are working on him [Hardik]”Rohit said after the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.” So far all I know is that he hasn’t thrown a single ball yet. We wanted to take one game at a time and see where it stands. You saw that he does not play bowling today, but he is improving day by day. In the next week he might be able to go bowling, who knows. I mean only doctors or physical therapists will be able to give an update on that. “

Hardik also didn’t have a hot streak in the current IPL. He has managed to score just 127 runs in 12 games with a meager 14.11 average and a 113.39 strike rate. The Mumbai Indians skipper, however, has backed Hardik to do well in the T20 World Cup.

“As far as his hitting goes, yes, he will be a little disappointed, but we know his quality,” Rohit said. “He’s a quality player, there’s no question about that, and he’s also come back from tough situations before. He won’t be happy with his hitting, but the team is confident in his ability. I personally have confidence in his ability.” .

“When you look at him, he’s improving every time he comes on the field. A player like him is probably just a good inning away from getting back to his natural form. We’ve seen that he’s done it before too. If I have to put it all together, personally. I am very confident in his ability and there is no doubt that he will be a valuable asset, “said the Mumbai Indians captain.
