On Friday, parents-to-be Jennifer Lawrence and her husband Cooke Maroney went house hunting in New York City, scouring the East Village area with a real estate agent. Lawrence is nearing the end of her pregnancy, wearing a loose green maternity dress under a brown trench coat with navy blue tights and Mary Jane flats.
In August last year, Lawrence sold her Manhattan penthouse for $9.9 million, which originally stood for $15.45 million. She moved into a property in the West Village, a brand new mansion for $22 million. It is not clear whether there are plans to put the property up for sale.
Lawrence took a break from acting in recent years, but returned this year for the new Netflix movie don’t look up, also starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Meryl Streep in the lead roles. Lawrence went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this month. Colbert asked her what she had been doing for the past three years.
Pointing to her baby bump, she joked, “I just had a ton of sex.”
Colbert congratulated her and Lawrence became more serious, saying, “I’m kidding. I cooked a little. The pandemic happened and then I cooked and cleaned a lot.”
She added that if she ever gave up acting completely, she had a new career in mind.
“I think I would make a really good housekeeper,” Lawrence said with a laugh. “No really. I make a mess, but I’m really good at cleaning up. I can attack a mess.”
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Lawrence gave a deeper answer in November about why she withdrew from the limelight to start a family.
“I had no life,” she said. “I thought I should go get one.”
