Joycelyn Savage’s parents have not given up on their daughter and are asking her to contact them about deaths in the family. Her parents, Timothy and Jonjelyn Savage, spoke to TMZ, and said that despite R. Kelly being behind bars awaiting sentencing following his recent conviction, they still haven’t heard from their daughter.
The Savages Told TMZ that they have tried to contact her through R. Kelly’s team as they always have to inform her about the passing of her grandparents. Her father said that when he contacted him about his father’s death, there was no response and that now Jonjelyn Savage’s mother has passed away and they have still not been able to reach her to share the news. They said they are tired of contacting her through third parties and want to hear from their daughter.
“Joycelyn, we need to hear from you directly,” Jonjelyn Savage said. “We were always hearing information from third parties, and we couldn’t hear from her directly without what I call ‘prison calls,’ where the calls are scripted.”
She added that she wants Joycelyn to come forward so they can talk as a family. Her father agreed and demanded that she come to her grandmother’s funeral.
“Everyone wants to say she’s grown. Let me hear from a grown woman. I want to hear from my daughter,” said Timothy Savage. “I don’t want to hear from a third party… Listen, Robert is locked up. All these enablers need to be pushed aside. Joycelyn, I need to see you at that funeral.’
R. Kelly was convicted on September 27, 2021, of eight Mann Act violations and one of racketeering. He will be sentenced by the Brooklyn federal court on May 4, 2022. He faces 10 years to life in prison. After that, he has two more lawsuits in Illinois and Minnesota regarding his sexual behavior with underage girls.
