Kanye West admitted earlier this week that he put out an autograph seeker that allegedly incited him outside a West Hollywood club while the rapper is under investigation for battery.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, West, 44, said he was outside the Soho Warehouse at 3 a.m. Thursday when a man who had been chasing him for autographs for the past few days allegedly provoked him.
“I say, ‘You don’t know what I’m dealing with right now,'” West said, referring to images of him snapping at the unknown man.
“I just finished these two songs, I came out of the studio, and this guy, he just had a real attitude, like, ‘What are you going to do? And do you see that?”
“I’m just telling you, that blue COVID mask won’t stop that knockout, you know what I mean?”
He added that at the time he was angry with estranged wife Kim Kardashian, who filed for divorce and is now dating Pete Davidson, and a cousin who hadn’t told Kardashian he wanted to visit one of their children at school.
“Security doesn’t come between me and my kids. And my kids won’t be on TikTok without my permission,” Kanye said, repeating his message to Kardashian.
He also said he was upset about her budding romance with Davidson.
“How are you going to blame me for behaving and kissing the guy you’re dating right in front of me. Everyone says ‘that’s cool,’ and I hear there’s a new friend in the house that I can’t even go to.”

West claims that the man he hit was not a fan of his, but someone who was trying to make money by selling autographs he received from the rapper on January 10.
“This is like the paparazzi, this is not a fan. This is someone who uses your image, who probably never listened to your songs.’
In dramatic footage of the aftermath of the incident, West yells “Get away from me” to his cousin, who tried to calm him down as the autograph seeker lies on the floor, clutching his head in pain.
Witnesses told TMZ that West punched the man twice in the head and once in the neck, knocking him down and the fan hitting his head on the sidewalk.
You heard his cousin say to the rapper, “I’m your family,” as she tried to grab his hand and let him relax.
‘No, get off me! No hands, no hands,” West shouts.
“You should have talked to her,” he adds, now revealing that he was angry with his cousin for not telling his estranged wife that he wanted to visit their child at school.

He eventually blamed his nephew for his bad temper that made him furious after the altercation, which was captured on video by confused bystanders.
He said he eventually admitted to the attack because he was tired of portraying the incident in the media and wanted to take control of the story.
“This comes from the horse’s mouth. I’ve told you all before, you’re not fit to be in charge of my story,” West told Entertainment Tonight’s Jason Lee.
“I’ve told you before, I’ll take my story. I am writing my story. Why don’t you all do something, you know what I mean, except try to take someone down.”
The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the case and has not yet made any arrests, but has identified West as a suspect.
Earlier in the night of the incident, West had been out with his rumored new girlfriend Julia Fox at Delilah in West Hollywood for a star-studded dinner date after spending the evening with Madonna and Floyd Mayweather.
The group seemed elated after Diana Ross’ son Evan Ross shared video footage of them on Instagram.

While it was previously reported that West’s new romance has come under the skin of his estranged wife Kim Kardashian, sources have claimed she’s happy to see the Donda performer smiling again.
West is no stranger to clashes with the law. In 2014, he was arrested for assaulting a photographer at Lost Angeles International Airport.
He was sentenced to 250 hours of community service, two years’ probation and 24 anger management sessions.
He was also arrested in 2008 for vandalism and assault after an altercation with two photographers at the same airport. The case was dropped after he paid for one of the photographer’s broken equipment and agreed to attend anger management help.
