Some of the Nets’ Kyrie Irving headache is behind them.
New York on Friday ruled that the Brooklyn Nets training facility HSS Training Center is a private office. according to The Athletic. That means Kyrie Irving can practice at home despite his unvaccinated status.
Nets coach Steve Nash said he was hopeful that Irving would join the team for practice on Saturday, but could not confirm that would happen.
“It’s positive to be able to welcome him back to the building and have him part of the team… It sounds like it’s positive news,” Nash told media on Friday.
Barclays Center, however, remains a different story.
Irving is still not allowed to adapt to games on the home turf of the Nets – or in the Garden when he faces the Knicks – due to the city’s vaccination mandates.
He has yet to adjust to a preseason game and can miss up to 43 games and will be paid $381,000 per absence if ineligible to play.
