Dirk Kuyt ‘certainly’ Steven Gerrard will manage Liverpool

Former Liverpool star Dirk Kuyt believes it is “certainly certain” that Steven Gerrard will one day be in the dugout at Anfield.

Gerrard has been with Rangers in the Scottish Premiership for the past three years and led them to a much-anticipated league title last season.

From the moment Gerrard stepped into senior football management, there has been talk of one day becoming the manager of his boys’ club.

The 41-year-old left Anfield as a player in 2015 to join LA Galaxy and retired a year later, returning to Merseyside in 2017 to coach the Under-18 club.

Kuyt, who has made the step into football management himself, most recently heading Feyenoord’s Under-19s, before leaving in 2020.

The former Netherlands international, who had a successful spell as a player at Liverpool alongside Gerrard, believes his old team-mate will take over at Anfield one day in the future.
