Moses Sumney Announces New Album, Live From Blackalachia, Shares New Video: Watch

Moses Sumney has announced a new album and movie, featuring a one-take performance shot in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. The album, Live from Blacklachia, comes out on December 10. Watch Sumney’s performance of below Gray‘Bystanders’.

Sumney and his band have recorded Live from Blackalachia in the summer of 2020. The album features performances by Gray and Aromanticism songs. Sumney directed the film counterpart to the album, blackalachia. “Over the course of two days we filmed 14 songs, completely live, the trees as our audience, the grasshoppers our backing singers,” he explained in a statement. “Live from Blackalachia is a wild representation of what could happen if we not only try to reclaim nature, but also integrate it back into it.”
