Panthers fire offensive coordinator Joe Brady mid-week

The Carolina Panthers have fired offensive coordinator Joe Brady, the team announced on Sunday. Senior offensive assistant Jeff Nixon will coordinate the strike for the Panthers (5-7), who are absent this week.

“I met Joe this morning and let him know that I’ve decided to make a change,” head coach Matt Rhule said in a statement. “I am very grateful to him for his time and effort to help us settle in over the past year and a half.”

Brady, 32, joined the staff of the Panthers in 2020 after helping LSU to a perfect season and a national championship in 2019. last season.

On Sunday, the Panthers’ offense came in 28th in yards per game and 23rd in points to 12 games. The team has used three different quarterbacks in Sam Darnold (still on injured reserve), PJ Walker and Cam Newton.
