Paul Heyman took to Instagram today and reacted to WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns’ big milestone of 500 days as champion.
We pointed out earlier how WWE marked the milestone with a tweet last night. Heyman released a statement about the milestone and congratulated Reigns, also taking some credit for the achievement. It also reminded everyone how reigning WWE Champion Brock Lesnar was the first Superstar to hold the Universal Title for 500 consecutive days.
“The entire WWE Universe (and #multiverse and #metaverse) should spend today RECOGNIZING the fact that @romanreigns is only the second being in history (other than The Beast BRRRRRRRRROCK LESNAR) to hold the @WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship for 500 consecutive fights. days. I would despise, in fact despise my own contributions and achievements if I didn’t RECOGNIZE this amazing achievement of the #TribalChief of the #IslandOfRelevance. It has been, without a doubt, a championship reign for the history books, including the most decisive pinfall victory in #WrestleMania main event history. Therefore, I congratulate the #HeadOfTheTable on day 500 of his uninterrupted tenure as the reigning, defending, undisputed, #WWE #UniversalHeavyweightChampion,” Heyman wrote.
Lesnar’s first WWE Universal Title reign lasted 503 days, while his second lasted 156 days and his third lasted only 27. Reigns’ first Universal Title reign lasted only 63 days, and this current reign now lasts 501 days. .
Heyman spent most of the 500 days with Reigns, joining him two days before he won the title at WWE Payback 2020. Reigns shot and attacked Heyman a few weeks ago on SmackDown, and Heyman was reunited with Lesnar shortly after.
Reigns responded to WWE’s previous milestone tweet and simply wrote, “#AcknowledgeMe”
Reigns is scheduled to defend the WWE Universal Title against Seth Rollins at the Royal Rumble on January 29.
