Contract negotiations between Bayern Munich and defender Niklas Sule are not progressing, according to a report from Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The Germany international has had a fantastic start to his season and looks set to have a very strong season. With his contract expiring next summer, time is of the essence to close a new deal.
Plettenberg says a roadblock has occurred and Süle is hearing overtures from England again. In addition, Sule also wants to be paid €10 million per season, which should be a reasonable number for a top defender, who is only 26 years old:
❗️News #Close to: At the moment it is possible that he is leaving #FC Bayern next summer as a free agent. The conversations are very slow. Despite his good performance, some bosses are hesitant. Interestingly, Plettenberg also noted that Julian Nagelsmann also wants Sule back. Should Sule continue with his excellent form, it will only get more difficult. Certainly, English clubs with deep pockets like Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur would be willing to pay Sule even more than €10m per season as he could leave Bayern Munich on a free transfer.
Fasten everything… this can be a bumpy ride.
