No changes in the story or the characters.
Saints Row has been delayed six months until August 2022.
It was to be released on February 25, 2022. Now it is launched on August 23, 2022.
Explaining the decision in a blog post, Volitions creative director Jim Boone said the development team needs more time “to make our vision fair”.
“We’re making some tweaks and there will not be much change in the game outside of the overall quality and polish,” Boone added.
Boone said Volition “underestimated” the impact the pandemic would have on Saints Row’s development plan, despite the team quickly adapting to work from home.
“However, due to the size and scope of our new Saints Row, it has become clear that in order to create the best possible game, we need to give our teams more time to perfect their craft,” Boone continued.
“As mentioned, when we announced Saints Row in August, this will be the biggest and best Saints Row game ever, and to reach our goal, we have set ourselves a generous but important time to realize our ambitions.
“Be assured that there will be no changes in the story or the characters or anything that we have lovingly imagined over the last few years and have already shared with you.
“Over the last two years, all corners of the entertainment industry have been affected / influenced in one way or another. As gamers ourselves, we know what it feels like to have something delayed that one has been looking forward to; it’s frustrating and you feel disappointed. But we also know that when we finally get Saints Row in your hands, it will have been worth the wait. It’s our absolute priority to get this right. “
As Martin wrote in his preview of Saints Row, released in August, the new Saints Row strikes back at the excesses of Saints Row 4.
“After a series of over-the-top adventures that unfolded in alien invasions and superpowers with Saints Row 4 and its subsequent sequels, Volition brings its open world crime series back to its roots with next year’s Saints Row – a reboot that reintroduces a more grounded contemporary fictional setting while still seeking to hold on to the humor and possibilities that Saints Row has been loved for, “Martin said.
