LAHORE: Former test cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq will be the interim head coach of the national team at the T20 World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday.
Just hours before the national team was about to enter the event’s biosecurity bubble, the PCB announced few changes. Sarfaraz Ahmed replaced Azam Khan, Haider Ali replaced Mohammad Hasnain, while Fakhar Zaman, who was originally appointed as a travel reserve, has swapped places with Khushdil Shah.
Meanwhile, the PCB also confirmed that Saqlain will be the interim coach of the national team, accompanied by Shahid Aslam (assistant head coach), Matthew Hayden (hitting consultant), Vernon Philander (bowling consultant), Cliffe Deacon (physical therapist) , Drikus Saaiman (strength and conditioning coach), Abdul Majeed (field coach), Talha Ejaz (team analyst), Col (retd) Muhammad Imran (safety manager), Ibrahim Badees (media and digital manager) , Dr. Najeeb Soomro (team doctor) and Malang Ali (Massage therapist) in team management.
