Sony is quietly launching new, lighter PS5 model in Australia

For a large number of fans worldwide, it was incredibly difficult to get their fingers on the PS5. Stock seems to be unable to keep up with demand, leading to a shortage of the popular console. Well, according to Press Start, a new PS5 model may be coming soon. The new model will reportedly have a new bottom screw as well as be about 300 grams lighter. In a recent report, the publication has now confirmed that there are actually new models of PS5 hitting Australian shelves. The new model number is CFI-1102A.

New features for the Sony PS5 model?

It has also been confirmed that the bottom screw has been adjusted so that it is easier to operate by hand instead of using a screwdriver. There has been no official announcement from Sony yet, but there is a Digital Edition manual outlining the changes. You can check it out right here. We are not sure what exactly Sony has omitted to make the console lighter, but we should get more news on the subject soon. The publication has also confirmed that the console felt lighter but has not been able to measure it accurately to determine the correct weight of the console.

The PS5 has been the console to beat this generation and it seems to be trying to catch up with the demand. The console already has a few exclusive titles that fans can enjoy and we assume we will see new games in the God of War series.
