NBA legends rarely, if ever, forget when they’ve been belittled.
So when Steph Curry sat down with Michael Jordan at the Ryder Cup in Whistling Straits last month, you may have thought of MJ’s infamous quote from 2019 when he said on “Today” with Craig Melvin that the Warriors star isn’t a Hall of Famer yet.
Well, Curry was, and he admitted it was the first thing he asked Jordan about in the interview.
“That was the first question, and they just took it out,” Curry jokingly told The Athletic’s David Aldridge and Marcus Thompson III on the “Hoops, Adjacent” podcast. “He said ‘first ballot, Hall of Fame, no problem.'”
Glad to see His Airness finally came around.

Curry enjoyed his time with Jordan and learned a few things from their conversations when Team USA took Team Europe to the woodshed.
“First off, I’m not the only one who is a psycho about golf,” Curry said on Warriors Media Day two weeks ago. “I know. Maybe he’ll let me beat for sure. But that competitive spirit never dies. The same killer instinct he had as a player and in business has translated into his presence as a Ryder Cup team and some captains. and players and stories he can tell from his to the last 11 Ryder Cups.
“That spirit that made him who he is in basketball permeates everything in life. That’s such a cool concept. You have to find balance, but it’s an encouraging look at how he’s living his life in that regard. Because he gives everything he does his best and he wants to win everything. It’s not just talking. It’s how he lives.”
Jordan might want to win it all, but he took an L on his Curry’s Hall of Fame remarks. Even the GOAT loses every now and then.
