We’ve focused some episodes on social justice that really come largely out of the Black Lives Matter movements and last summer’s events and have the same themes that I think mean so much to us, to all of us in the writer’s room, to be able to talk about inclusion and equality and stuff , values that are important to us.

She continued: “And also, there’s just a very satisfying arc for Kara Danvers/Supergirl dealing with her at the beginning of the season 1 pilot episode. You know, as some insecure, bumbling young girl with big eyes to becoming a very mature, integrated, authentic hero of the people.”
