Former captain Inzamam-Ul-Haq has spoken boldly about the Indian cricket team and their performance against Pakistan at the T20 World Cup 2021, where the Men in Blue lost to their arch-rivals for the first time ever in the World Cups. Pakistan hammered India by 10 wickets as the opening pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan chased 152 to break the team’s nearly three-decade-long jinx in the World Cups.
Much has been said and written about India’s indifferent outing at Dubai International Stadium, where Inzamam claimed that Virat Kohli’s unit was scared even before the World Cup match even began.

“I feel like the Indians were scared even before the match started. Their body language, if you look at the interview of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam at the throw, you could sense who was under pressure. Our team’s body language was much better than theirs. It was “Not that India was under pressure after Rohit Sharma’s dismissal. Sharma herself was under pressure. It was clear that they were all under pressure,” Inzamam told ARY News.
India had an off-color T20 World Cup, and were eliminated before reaching the semi-finals, making it the first time in eight years and events that the team did not manage to come to a knockout in an ICC event. After defeats to Pakistan and New Zealand, India were always under the pump and even though they managed to beat Afghanistan, Scotland and Namibia in their last three matches, it was not enough to see them through to the last four.

Inzamam feels that the pressure from the Indian team after the Pakistan defeat was so great that the team did not manage to recover from the beating, which in turn affected their T20 World Cup campaign.
“The Indian team never plays like they did. They are a good T20 team, there is no doubt about it. If you look at their performance in the last 2-3 years, they were the favorites. But the match between India and Pakistan put so much pressure on them that there was no looking back, “Inzamam added.
“Their feet did not move at all. After losing to Pakistan, they got so much criticism and there was a break of 3-4 days. The poor guys could not even play Santner and Sodhi. They are such good spin players. “That pressure put on them.”
