The release date for ELEX II is locked until next spring

Developer Piranha Bites has today announced that its upcoming sci-fi / fantasy RPG ELEX II is set to launch next spring, March 1, across PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms.

The news comes in the form of a tweet from the developer:

For those who are not up for a ride, the Elex II is the sequel to 2017’s action RPG, developed by the team behind the Gothic and Risen series, Piranha Bytes. Players will once again return to the post-apocalyptic Science Fantasy world Magalan, which is characterized by a unique aesthetic that combines sci-fi and fantasy styles.

The developer tells about his story with the following synopsis:

Several years after Jax defeated the hybrid, a new threat arrives from the sky, releasing dark Elex’s dangerous forces and endangering all life on the planet. To defend the peace of Magalan and the safety of his own family, Jax embarks on a mission to convince the factions to unite against the invaders, as well as a personal quest to find his son, Dex, who was divorced from him…

In addition to the standard version of the game, there is also a Collector’s Edition, which offers a lot of physical delights. A new trailer today provides an overview:
